Determining a child’s pre and post injury earning capacity requires the forensic vocational expert to utilize applicable research by labour economists and sociologists, as well as understand the influences a family’s educational and economic achievements can have on the child’s, without incident, future academic and vocational development.  This allows for the prediction of reasonable and probable earning capacity so it may be compared to their post injury residual earning capacity.
